FOOTBALL: Charles vs. spider video surfaces on TMZ Sports site

Published 3:13 pm Thursday, June 6, 2019

Jamaal Charles retired from the NFL on May 1, but the Port Arthur native and former Memorial Titan had to face one more opponent in his own home recently.

A video that surfaced on TMZ Sports’ website showed Charles, an 11-year NFL running back mostly with the Kansas City Chiefs, standing on a sofa while trying to calmly sweep a black spider off a corner in his room and trying to dump it in a box. The source of the video is unknown, but a woman who at times shrieks in fear of the spider can be heard in the background. She and at least one more voice can be heard screaming when the spider emerges up the corner into plain view.

Charles sweeps off the spider, but it then appears to lunge toward him before Charles finally knocks it outside.
