Body recovered near Taylor Bayou bridge
Jefferson County Sheriff’s investigators and Texas EquuSearch, a Houston area-based, search-and-rescue organization, were briefed on Highway 73 at the Taylor Bayou Bridge on Saturday morning in reference to a missing person — Donald Goodman.
Goodman was reported missing when his truck was found abandoned on the bridge Jan. 23. The JCSO Marine Unit and Aviation Unit, along with divers from the Port Arthur Fire Department, have conducted searches in and around the area since Goodman was reported missing.
A statement issued by the Sheriff’s Office at 12:02 p.m. said EquuSearch members located the body of a male believed to be Goodman. The body was located floating in the waterway about 100 feet from the bridge. Judge Thomas Gillam ordered an autopsy.
The family was on the scene and they have been notified.
