SOCCER: PNG, Tomball fight to tie in Waller

Nine months after their girls soccer season ended in a shootout defeat, the Port Neches-Groves Indians fought the team that eliminated them from the 5A playoffs to a 1-1 tie at a tournament in Waller.

Halley Smith evened the 60-minute match against Tomball with a goal with 6 minutes remaining. PNG will take on Clear Falls at 11:30 a.m. and Duncanville at 4 p.m. today.

Also in Waller, Memorial won two matches, but details were not available.
