Suspected shooter arrested in Beaumont robbery

Work by Beaumont Police detectives, local and federal law enforcement agencies resulted in a second arrest in the Aug. 25 aggravated robbery at the Valero station at 1480 Interstate Highway 10-E, in which a clerk was shot, sustaining law-altering injuries.
Beaumont Police, its Special Assignment Unit and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives arrested Darryl James Dodd, 34, of Beaumont on Friday. In an issued statement, police said they believe Dodd was the suspect who shot the clerk.
A warrant had been issued earlier for Brandon Oneil Dodd, 33, of Beaumont, released from prison in May.
More arrests are expected.
