Barrow, Lemoine named Christus All-Star coaches

Monte Barrow of Nederland football and Jessica Lemoine of Port Neches-Groves softball will head East teams in the Christus All-Star Classic games, scheduled for June 14-16.

The softball game is scheduled for 5 p.m. June 14 at Crosby High School. The volleyball, girls basketball and boys basketball games will be held June 15 starting at 5 p.m. at East Chambers High School. And the football game will be played at East Chambers at 7 p.m. June 16.

Barrow, who helped Nederland reach the area round of the 5A Division II area round last November, will lead the East against a West team coached by Woodville’s Ty Robinson. Lemoine, whose PNG team finished tied for the District 22-5A championship, heads an East softball team will take on a West team led by Hardin-Jefferson’s Kerry Sims.

Two former Port Arthur ISD coaches have been selected for the All-Star Classic. Former Memorial boys coach Travis Williams, now at Kountze, was picked to lead the East girls team. Hardin-Jefferson’s Mike Fogo will coach the West.

Former Lincoln coach and PAISD athletic director Andre Boutte will coach the East boys team, with Crosby’s Edwin Egans leading the West. Boutte finished his first season at West Brook.

Volleyball coaches are Talon Morgan of West Brook (East) and Tammy White of Huffman (West).

An annual golf tournament is set for 9 a.m. June 15 at Henry Homberg Municipal Golf Course at Tyrrell Park in Beaumont. This tournament raises scholarship money for the senior all-stars.
