Magnolia won the team championship with a score of 650. Three players — Leah Alberto of Kingwood Park, Elise Paul of Kingwood Park and Halle Whitney of Magnolia— tied for medalist honors.

The boys regional tees off Wednesday, with PNG having two teams in the field. Nederland’s Brendan Marley will compete as a medalist.

With District 22-5A champ Timothy Feemster and 2017 22-5A winner Josh Elmore leading the way, the PNG boys have a realistic chance at being one of the three teams that advance to state.

Magnolia and Cedar Park are considered heavy favorites, with PNG expected to battle Bryan, Barbers Hill and Magnolia West for the third spot.
