PA man shot by homeowner during Longview robbery

A Port Arthur man who police say was involved in an aggravated robbery was shot to death last week by the homeowner in Longview.
The incident occurred at 1:57 a.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of 12th Street in Longview, according to information from the Longview Police Department.
A resident contacted police stating that when he arrived home an armed man wearing a bandana confronted him. The resident shot at the suspect before retreating to his home and has been cooperative with the investigation, Longview Police spokesman Sgt. Shane McCarter said.
The suspect was identified as Jalen Johnson, 24, of Port Arthur, who died at the scene.
A car fled the scene and was stopped by a Longview officer. The driver, identified as Lamontrel Dunn, 26, of Kilgore, was arrested on outstanding warrants.
According to the Longview News-Journal, Dunn was released Sunday after paying $1,156 in fines.
