JANICE TODORA ON BOWLING: Mitchell torches lanes at The Max

The lanes on the Thursday night Energy Country Ford/Allstate League were absolutely torched by Charles Mitchell.
Charles unleashed games of 289, 279 and 238 for a 806 series. Great bowling, Charles.
Golden Oldies’ Rick Hermsen cranked out games of 213, 217 and a big 278 on his way to a 708 set. That was good enough this week to lead all the senior men.
Queen Tumblers’ Alice Barnes was once again on her game as she shot games of 146, 206 and 203 for a 555 set. Alice led all the senior ladies with that set.
Katie Quinn is making her transition to the big leagues known. Katie shot games of 221, 216 and 216 to lead all the ladies this week with a 653 series.
Congrats to all the Max Bowl bowlers who made the trip to Austin this weekend to bowl in the 44th annual Knights of Columbus/Cacey Queens Bowling held at the Westgate Lanes. The two weekend tournament wraps up next weekend, and a few bowlers will make the return trip next weekend to bowl. Once all the scores are in, we will report any honor scores.
Finally, mark your calendars: The Women’s City Championships and the Open City tournaments are taking place the weekends of April 22 and 30.
