Betty Joyce McFarlin Barnett was born October 23, 1932, in Port Arthur, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Mabel McFarlin, and her brother, J.C. McFarlin and her sister Eloise LeBlanc. Betty was employed at Texaco Island and the Texaco main plant for many years. Betty went to be with her Lord and Savior at 9:49pm on Friday, September 16, 2016, at Gulf Care Center in Port Arthur, Texas. She had many loves in her life, but her love for her family surpassed them all. Betty loved her nieces and nephews, and loved having them stay with her. Betty loved life. She loved to dance, especially at Larry’s.

She also loved beautiful clothes and was also always dressed so beautifully. Betty was a giver. She had many friends in her life; and even when she was at Serenity House Assisted Living, still wanted to help take care of everyone.

Betty is survived by her brothers and their wives, Don and Terri McFarlin, Cotton (Gerald) and Nancy McFarlin, sister, Elaine Walters, sister and her husband Linda and Numa Dale Richard, and a host of nieces and nephews. We are so grateful for all the care and love extended to Betty in her last days on earth; and for the nurses at Gulf care Ce:i;iter and at Centiva Hospice. We would also like to thank Rosalyn Vertel and Serenity House for the care and love given to Betty from her and her staff. Betty would hug each and everyone of you if she could.
