Harvey spent nine years as the Sharks’ basketball coach and guided them to a 17-8 record this past season and a 2A bi-district playoff victory over Zavalla. He also was the Sharks’ head football coach, but the team has lost 17 straight and gone 1-19 the past two seasons.

Sabine Pass last won a bi-district playoff game in football in 2011, according to SETXsports.com. The Sharks begin the 2016 football season at 7 p.m. Aug. 26 at home against Pasadena First Baptist.
