BEAUMONT — Lamar senior Taylor Stockton and junior Felicia Sauceda were named Women’s Collegiate Golf All-American Scholars by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association, the WGCA announced Tuesday.

Stockton and Sauceda were members of the Lamar women’s golf team that won an unprecedented fourth straight Southland Conference championship this past spring. Stockton was also the conference’s Student-Athlete of the Year as well as a first-team all-conference and first-team conference all-academic team selection.

Sauceda is from Nederland.

To be named a Women’s Collegiate Golf All-American, a student must maintain a grade-point average of at least 3.50.

“Taylor and Felicia served as great role models this year for their teammates both on the course and in the classroom,” LU coach Jessica Steward said. “They make a lot of sacrifices to continue to do well in their classes despite the tremendous commitment that Division I golf requires.

“School is still a top priority for them, and it shows. I’m proud to see their name on this list. For Felicia, her career continues, so I will be excited to see her accolades accumulate in the future.”
