Cheryl Lynn Sheppard passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 25, 2016, following a 10 month courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was the oldest child born to parents James Leslie Sheppard and Nell Rose Davenport Sheppard.  Born in Owensboro, KY, Cheryl moved with her family to Port Neches as a young child.
Our Mom was a classic beauty with an unrelenting sunniness, bright smiling eyes, and an unlimited capacity to love.  She was the most beautiful soul, put together by God to touch our lives, and make the world a better place.
Left to miss her forever are her parents, James and Nell Sheppard of Port Neches; brothers, Kenneth Leslie Sheppard and James Brett Sheppard and their families, also of Port Neches; daughters Jacquelyne Rose Harrell Mees and husband, Jon; daughter Rachel Paige Harrell; grandsons Jack and Harrison Mees, all of Dallas; along with loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends too numerous to count.
She selflessly donated her body to science with the hopes that someday a cure for pancreatic cancer will be found.
The entire family and our Mom’s sweet spirit invite all those who loved her to help us celebrate her life on Saturday, March 19, 2016, from 2:00pm – 4:00 pm, at Rose Hill Manor, 100 Woodworth Blvd, Port Arthur, TX 77640.
Faith Presbyterian Hospice gave Mom so much comfort, compassion and care during the last few months.  Words cannot express how thankful we are for them and especially her nurse, Laura Kochan, RN, whom quickly became not only her dear friend, but also a part of our family.
Instead of flowers, hospice donations in her name would be graciously accepted by Presbyterian Communities and Services Foundation, c/o Faith Presbyterian Hospice, 550 Ann Arbor, Dallas, TX, 75216.
For those who wish to send flowers, we ask that they be sent to 2546 12th Street, Port Neches, TX 77651, on Friday, March 18, 2016.  We will bring them to Rose Hill Manor on Saturday.
While her spirit will forever live on, we now reluctantly and sadly say good-bye and Godspeed to the most beautiful being.
