Lillian Marie Spillers, age 71 of Port Acres passed away at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas on Friday, July 10, 2015. She was born on March 16,1944 to Lewis Robert and Frances Caveline Newsom. Lillian was a member of the Jade Ave. Baptist Church in Port Acres and had worked as a clerk for the U.S. Post Office for 15 years. Lillian was a graduate of Port Arthur Business College.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, brother and his wife Robert and Norma Newsom. She is survived by her husband John J Spillers of Port Acres, son John and his wife Terry of Port Acres, daughters, Sabrina and husband Troy Belk of Lumberton, Wendy and husband Brent Broussard of LaBelle, brother, Wayne and wife Marina Newsom of Port Acres, sister Ann and husband Lonnie Coats of Sulphur, La., 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Thompson Memorial Chapel of Clayton Thompson with internment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
