The Buu Mon Buddhist Temple will host its 17th annual Vesak Celebration and Garden Festival this weekend.
Visitors are welcome to stroll through the temple’s gardens of lotus blossoms, roses, bamboo, citrus and koi ponds while cultural presentations of music and dance play throughout the festivities.
The Garden Festival is celebrated in conjunction with Vesak — which will honor the 2,639th birthday, the 2,674th enlightenment and the 2,559th ultimately peaceful attainment of Buddha.
All events are free and open to the public, with lunch served for all who attend.
Saturday events kick off at 9 a.m. and run through 11 p.m. Sunday events begin at 9 a.m. and end at 5 p.m.
The Buu Mon Buddhist Temple is located at 2701 Procter St. in Port Arthur.
