PORT NECHES — Port Neches-Groves senior Cole Girouard has committed to play baseball at Lamar, according to Indians coach Scott Carter.
The Indians left fielder is currently batting .476 with two doubles, three triples, six RBI and 12 runs score. Girouard’s on-base-percentage sits at .593 through 27 plate appearances.
Girouard reportedly will be a preferred walkon for future Lamar coach Will Davis, who is set to take over for the retiring Jim Gilligan next season.
Girouard and the Indians play at Lumberton this Tuesday at 7 p.m.
