Faircloth: I’m staying at PN-G

Port Neches-Groves football coach Brandon Faircloth laid all rumors to bed Wednesday.
Faircloth is staying at PN-G. There were several reports on Twitter Wednesday Lovejoy High School officials had offered its head football coach/athletic director position to one of its applicants.
In a text, Faircloth reported the offer was not made to him.
“No. All rumors,” Faircloth said in the text. “I’m staying at PN-G.”
Faircloth did apply for the job according to documents provided by Lovejoy ISD. The News requested the documents per the Freedom of Information Act.
Calls to Lovejoy ISD were not returned and it is unclear when the school district plans to name its new head coach/athletic director.
Faircloth is 51-29 in seven seasons with the Indians. PN-G won a share of the District 22-5A title in 2015 and won its first playoff game since 2010. Angleton eliminated PN-G with a 48-30 victory in the second round.
Lovejoy went 6-5 last season under Ryan Cox, his first year with the Leopards. Lovejoy is 61-24 since starting its football program in 2008.
The Leopards went 12-2 in their second season and 11-2 in 2010.
