Groves Police responded to the following calls from March 16 through March 22

Wednesday, March 16

  • Someone broke two windows on a vehicle parked in the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive.
  • Officers were called to the 5000 block of Twin City Highway in reference to an attempted theft. A 36-year-old male was found to have outstanding warrants and was arrested.
  • The driver of a newer model gray Nissan passenger car struck a vehicle in a parking lot in the 4500 block of Twin City Highway and then left the scene.
  • A 25-year-old male was arrested for public intoxication in the 4200 block of Grant.
  • A 22-year-old male was arrested for public intoxication in the 2700 block of Royal after officers were called about a disturbance.
  • A disturbance was reported in the 3000 block of South.

Thursday, March 17

  • A shoplifting was reported in the 3800 block of Main Avenue.
  • Two mental commitments were processed.

Friday, March 18

  • A 23-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop in the 4500 block of Twin City Highway.
  • A 26-year-old male was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia in the 5500 block of East Parkway.
  • A DeWalt drill and a laptop computer were stolen from a house in the 2800 block of Oak.
  • A 25-year-old male was arrested for reckless driving and driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop in the 5100 block of West Parkway.
  • A 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis was stolen from the 6100 block of Coolidge.
  • A disturbance was reported in the 6900 block of 32nd Street.

Saturday, March 19

  • A vehicle parked in the 3300 block of Twin City Highway was struck by a vehicle that left the scene.
  • Officers were called to the 6200 block of Jackson in reference to a suspicious person. A 22-year-old male was subsequently arrested for Public Intoxication and outstanding warrants.
  • A 55-inch LG TV was stolen from a home in the 5200 block of 25th Street.

Sunday, March 20

  • Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card account.
  • Cash was stolen from a house in the 6400 block of Jefferson.
  • A 49-inch LG TV was stolen from the 5500 block of Hogaboom.
  • An attempted burglary to a garage was reported in the 3300 block of Bryan.
  • A 32-year-old male was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession or ingestion of certain prohibited substances in the 2600 block of Royal.

Monday, March 21

  • A fuel card was stolen from the 3100 block of Main.
  • A person was reported as missing but was later located.
  • A disturbance was reported in the 6300 block of Monroe.
  • Theft of cash was reported in the 5000 block of Twin City Highway.

Tuesday, March 22

  • A 38-year-old male was arrested on Groves warrants in the 6100 block of East.
  • A parked car in the 4900 block of Twin City Highway was damaged by a vehicle door that was parked next to it.
  • A vehicle window was shattered in the 5400 block of Gulfway Drive.
  • A white gold diamond ring was stolen from the 4900 block of Twin City Highway.
  • A 36-year-old female was arrested on outstanding warrants after officers were called about a suspicious vehicle in the 5100 block of 34th Street.
