Mary Johnson

   Mary Johnson born in Bentonville, AR to the late Cecil and Addie Carter and has lived in the Port Acres area for the last 55 years.  She retired as a lab technician at American Petro Fina in Port Arthur.  She was a volunteer at the Museum of the Gulf Coast.

   Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the First Christian Church in Port Arthur with interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County in Nederland, Rev. River Scott officiating.  A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 26th at Melancon’s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H in Nederland.

   Mary is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Bobbie Young.  She is survived by her 3 sons, James Johnson and wife Vicki of Port Acres, Robert Johnson and wife Lorelei of Port Neches, and Richard Johnson and wife Kennie of Fannett; 2 sisters, Flo Edgerly and husband Gene of Bridge City and Betty Frank and husband Marvin of Tiki Island; brother Leon Carter and wife Billie of Orangefield; 12 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
