Betty Jean Broussard 85, of Nederland, Texas passed away February 23, 2020.

She was born in Tyler, Texas on April 8, 1934 to the late Talmadge Floyd Hammock and Mary Pearl Campbell Hammock.

Betty was a member of First Baptist Church in Nederland.

Those left to cherish Betty’s memory are her husband, Murphy Broussard of Nederland; her sons, Brad Broussard and his wife, Shala of Nederland and Darrell Broussard and his wife, Karolyn of Nederland; her granddaughter, Kristine Bearden; her great-grandchildren, Hagen Bearden, Addison Bearden, and Hudson Bearden; her brothers, Floyd Hammock and his wife, Jane of Nederland and Robert Hammock of Silsbee; and her sister, Mary Ann Metcalf and her husband, James of Beaumont.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, with a funeral service to follow at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Jason Burden. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
