Rudy Parma

Rudy Parma, 90, of Groves, Texas passed away February 11, 2020.

He was born in Waco, Texas on April 6, 1929 to the late Rudolph Edward Parma, Sr. and Margarite Hablinski Parma.

He moved his young family from Waco to Groves to begin working at Atlantic Ritchfield in July 1953 and retired 43 years later as Chief Inspector.

Rudy was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

He enjoyed raising orchids for 40 years and was a member of the Golden Triangle Orchid Society.

Rudy was a gunsmith, where he made and sold guns for many years.

He volunteered and was a board member for Golden Triangle Federal Credit Union from 1969 to 1996.

Rudy belonged to the Knights of Columbus and worked the Lenton Friday Fish Fries.

Those left to cherish Rudy’s memory are his wife of 68 years, Marlene Parma; his children, Pamela Mingle, Patrice Parma, Dawn Parma, Paul Parma, and David Parma and his wife Paula; his sister, Shirley Wirt; his grandchildren, Lindsay Tamez and her husband Neal, Allison Gebauer and her husband Kit, Sarah Adams and her husband Chris, Katherine Creamer and her husband Casey, Emily Brinker and her husband Daniel, Mike Savoy and his wife Amanda, Amanda Savoy, and Ezra Parma; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2020.

Funeral Services will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Craig Schinnerer officiant.

Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
