Port Arthur Fire Department receives grant from Flint Hills

The Port Arthur Fire Department was among seven fire and emergency services departments that received grant money from Flint Hills Resources through its 2020 Helping Heroes program in November.

Grants awarded in 2019 ranged from $1,000 to $10,000 and were determined by a team of internal safety professionals based on the specific needs submitted by applicants. The awarded grants totaled $22,100.

The 2020 grant cycle begins June 1, 2020.

“Flint Hills Resources is a proud supporter of our local fire departments and emergency responders. Their service is vital to the protection of both life and property and we are grateful for their dedication and bravery to help keep our communities safe,” Flint Hills said in a news release.

Other grant recipients were Beaumont Fire and Rescue, City of Orange Fire Department, Cove Fire and Rescue, Mont Belvieu Fire Department, Old River-Winfree Volunteer Fire Department, and Orange County Emergency Services District No. 1.
