Howard Johnson Sr. of Port Arthur, TX gained his wings October 5, 2019.

He was born on June 7, 1928 in Patterson, LA, the fourth child of Mrs. Eunice Johnson.

Howard was a self-employed mechanic and a retired security officer.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Josephine Malveaux Johnson; his parents; daughters, Wanda Johnson and Jacqueline Johnson; a son, Phillip Johnson and grandsons, Hilton Lofton Jr., Darvin Williams Jr. and Michael Johnson; a sister, Henrietta Jones and two brothers Jacob and Ivory Johnson.

Howard is survived by 16 children, Yvonne Johnson, Roger Johnson (Doll), Kenneth Johnson (Lora), Norma Johnson, Enette Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Hargust Johnson, Howland Johnson (Tonisha), Victor Johnson of Port Arthur, TX, Cheryl Booker (Emmanuel) of Humble, TX, Eunice Johnson, Max Johnson (Desra) of Baytown, TX, Roosevelt Johnson (Belinda) of Santa Clarita, CA, Brenda Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson, and Howard Johnson, Jr. (Gloria) of CA; one brother-in-law; six sisters-in-law.

He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019 at New St. John Baptist Church, 1048 W. Gulfway, Port Arthur, TX with visitation from 12 noon until service time.

Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
