Two contested races set in Groves, uncontested elections in Port Neches

Election filing for spots on Groves and Port Neches councils and Port Neches-Groves Independent School District board of trustees ended with only two contested races on the Groves City Council.
Two seats are open in Groves. The Ward 1 seat is currently held by Chris Borne, who was appointed to replace former councilman Cross Coburn after Coburn was ousted in a recall election. Borne has filed to run for the seat, as has an opponent, Cindy Kreutzer.
Ward 3 incumbent Sidney Badon Jr. has filed to keep his seat. He has one opponent, newcomer Barbara Edington.
Port Neches
In Port Neches, the seats held by Place 1 councilmember Chris McMahon and Place 2 councilmember Adam Anders are open and both have filed for reelection. Neither drew a challenger.
PNGISD
In PNGISD, the Place 4 seat currently held by Lana Parker and Place 5 seat held by Brandon Cropper are up for grabs and both have filed for the respective seats.
