Lionel Allen Ford “Ricky”

Lionel Allen Ford, affectionately known as “Ricky”, 67, of Port Arthur departed this earthly life on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX. He was born July 16, 1951 in Port Arthur, TX to Lionel Ford and Dorothy Jones Ford.

A graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School Class of 1969, he went on to join the United States Air Force. He was employed by Texaco Refinery, Texas Industrial, Park Place Hospital and retired from Lamar University in Beaumont as a Maintenance Supervisor.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 with visitation from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and services starting at 10 a.m. at Greater TrueVine Church, 4004 Memorial Blvd, Port Arthur, TX 77640. Pastor Dennis Ford, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lionel and Dorothy Ford; grandmother, Annie Mae Harris; brother, Eric Glen Ford “Sugar Bear”; sister, Paula Renee Ford-Paul.

Ricky is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Shirley Ford of Port Arthur, TX; sons, Lionel “Lil Ricky” Ford III (Monica) of Katy, TX, Corey Ford of Houston, TX and Adrian Bradley (Kenya) of Port Arthur, TX; daughters, Indrya Marable of Baytown, TX, Shalequa Landry (Reginald) and Tara Ford both of Port Arthur, TX; special grand-daughter, Ke’Ara Landry of Port Arthur, TX; sister, Marinda “Penny” Ford (Dennis Sr.) of Spring, TX; sisters-in-law, Diane Barnes of Stockton, CA, Faye Marie Landry-Williams of Sunnyvale, CA; brother-in-law, Michael Landry of Oakland, CA; his former wife, Connie Harrison Williams of Houston, TX; dedicated friend, Anthony Reed of Port Arthur; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends.
