MEN’S BASKETBALL: Lamar announces Kopp as latest signee

Houston St. Thomas guard Andrew Kopp has become the third signee to Lamar’s 2019-20 incoming class for men’s basketball.

Kopp is a 6-foot-4, 185-pound guard who had also considered Texas A&M, Tulsa, Tulane, Wisconsin and Sam Houston State.

The three-star guard was ranked among the nation’s top 235 players going into this past season and averaged 24 points per game. St. Thomas posted a 25-9 record, including an 11-1 mark in TAPPS District 4-6A.

Clarendon College’s Ellis Jefferson and Houston Sterling’s Corey Nickerson have also signed with the Cardinals.
