Herman “Ralph” Ratcliff

Herman “Ralph” Ratcliff was born November 16, 1939, in Port Arthur, Texas to the late Newman Ratcliff and Louvenia Hollins.

Ralph grew up in Westside Port Arthur, Texas. He was baptized at First Sixth Street Baptist Church. He attended Lincoln High School in PA and was known for best dressed; he loved wearing slacks and dress shirts. Ralph attended Texas Southern University in 1959.

Ralph worked for Wilson Furniture and retired from Texaco Oil Refinery in 1983 and was a member of The Learning Center Club.

Ralph was preceded in death by his father, Newman Ratcliff, mother, Louvenia Hollins Ratcliff, brothers, Tanzy Spooner, Wilson Ratcliff, and Norman Ratcliff.

Ralph leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Eustacia Hudson Wagner of Port Arthur, Texas; Herman (Denae) Ratcliff and Larry (Ellenor) Ratcliff of Houston, Texas; Willie Ratcliff of Port Arthur, Texas; Zeorah from Kashmere Gardens and Pat of Beaumont, Texas; sisters, Evelyn Williams and Odessa; friend, Jean Cebrun Ratcliff (mother of Herman and Larry Ratcliff) a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family.
