She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Tony, and her children – Tommy and his girlfriend, Debbie Kirkland, of Houston, TX; David and wife, Della, of Port Neches, TX; Larry, Becky Reynolds and husband Norman, and Randy and wife Lisa, all of Groves, TX; and, Mark and partner Fred Bandi of Livingston, TX. She had 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her Sister, Emma Lee Whitaker of Palestine, TX and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Bettye and Tony lived, worked and raised their 6 children in Groves, TX. Bettye was a hair stylist and owner of Balsano’s Salon of Fashion in Groves for many years. She and her husband retired to Toledo Bend 25 years ago and recently moved to Livingston, Texas. She was in several organizations over the years, but her greatest joy was her relationship with the Lord.  She was a media church member of Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, LA – “going to church” faithfully via radio and television for many years.

Bettye loved the Lord and was a spiritual mentor and inspiration to many.  She was a mighty prayer warrior, always interceding for her family and friends.  Through the years, she shared her faith and planted seeds of faith by gifting her family and friends with Bibles.

Bettye’s living left a mark on the hearts and lives of many and her passing will surely leave a void. She will live on in our hearts and memories.

Visitation will be on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Bettye’s life will be at 1:00 PM Saturday in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
