Willie Lee Carrier was born December 12, 1926, to the late Madeline Bryant and Overton Abbs, and the late Earnest Stelly in Opelousas, Louisiana.  Later she met and married Alex Carrier, and to this union nine children were born.  At the beautiful age of 91, July 30, 2018, Mrs. Willie Lee Carrier answered her Savior’s call and received her wings.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, her beloved daughter Patricia Carrier and great-grandson Jeremiah Zachery. She is also preceded in death by her siblings Mary Alice Carron, Albertha Jones, Dorothy Eaglin, and Earnest Stelly, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory six daughters and one son, Judy Monroe of Baton Rouge, LA, Brenda Broussard (Rodney), Alex Carrier (Sharon), Linda Joseph (Gerald), Carolyn Carrier of Port Arthur, TX, Pamela Carrier of Houston TX and Debra Carrier of Austin, TX; 16 grandchildren, 24 great- grandchildren, her sister Catherine Williams; sister-in- law Louella Collins and a host of nieces, nephews and friends, and a devoted friend Bessie Bobb.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday August 4, 2018 at New St. John Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Claude Comeaux Jr., officiating.  Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. with the celebration of life starting at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Live Oak Cemetery.
