PORT NECHES — Ticket sales will be a bit different for Port Neches-Groves Indians football fans as officials are moving to online ticket sales.

The new ticket sales process isn’t that new in a world where technology is moving forward. Groceries can be ordered online, bills can be paid online, movie tickets are sold online and NFL and college football game tickets are sold online.

Now, for the first time, fans can buy tickets online at PayK12.com, Port Neches-Groves Independent School District Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services Julie Gauthier said.

“You can order tickets on your computer instead of standing in line,” Gauthier said.

District leaders have mulled the idea for a number of years, looked at different software systems, and found one they are confident enough to go with.

Season ticket holders have likely already received letters outlining the steps to getting the app and signing up as well as dates of games and more.

“There are a lot of season ticket holders from outside the area and sometimes they can’t make it in (to get tickets). Plus there are a lot of parents new to the high school band program or other program and some can’t get off work to get tickets. This is an opportunity to log on to the computer and get tickets,” she said.

But not everyone is pleased with the change, she said. Some of the older population worry about losing their season tickets while others worry because they buy their grandchildren’s tickets and are not sure if this will remains an option.

“The district understands there are some people who may worry about this change,” she said.

Persons with concerns can make an appointment with Amanda Delcambre or call 729-7644, extension 123 for questions.
