Mrs. Patsy Anne Gunn Williams, 86, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center.

Pat was born March 9, 1931 in Nederland, Texas, the fourth daughter of James Samuel and Annie Sanderson Gunn.  She graduated from Nederland High School in 1948 and attended Business School.  She was employed by Neches Butane Products Co. and Kemper Insurance until retirement.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Nederland, TX from birth until 1955 when she married Bob and they moved to Port Neches First Baptist Church, where they were members for fifty years.  They moved to Winston-Salem in 2004 and were members of First Clemmons Baptist Church.  They also attended Augsburg Lutheran Church often.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Ethel Richey, Louise LaPoint, and Zelna Buckalew, nephews, Johnny Richey, Jim LaPoint, James Bailey, Dan Marcontel, niece Gaye Nell Marcontel, and great-nephew, Byron Buckalew, Jr.

Pat is survived by her beloved family: husband of 62 years, Robert L. (Bob) Williams, daughter, Robianne Brath and husband Peter; granddaughter, Kathryn Anne Brath; grandson, William Christian Brath; nieces, Dolores Franseen & husband Richard, Gale Henning and husband Haden, Jean Richey, Peggy Bailey, and Diane LaPoint; nephew, Byron Buckalew, Sr. and wife Skeet; and loving friends, Dolores and Mark Hamilton and their family.

In her lifetime, Pat was loved by her parents, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors, her husband, daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren and friends too many to count. In turn, she showered her love on all these people and just about everyone she encountered.  She also loved the Lord with all her heart.  She steadfastly believed in Christ as her savior and her constant daily companion.  She left many notes for her memorial service and among them this quote, “I feel my life has been lived by prayer and hymns. Everyday, I pray Psalm 23, my favorite being the second verse, ‘He restoreth my soul’”.  Her legacy of laughter, faith and love will live on through her family and friends.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 2 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Paul A. Wollner officiating.  Interment will take place at a later date at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, TX.
