Incumbent files to run again in District 4

The list of those filing to run in the May 6 General Election for the Port Arthur City Council grew a little longer on Wednesday.

Keith Richard, incumbent District 4 councilman, filed to run again. His opponent will be Harold Doucet, former councilman and mayoral candidate.

Incumbent Raymond Scott Jr. filed to run for District 1 and Tiffany Hamilton, incumbent District 2 councilwoman, also filed to run last week.

Mark Blanton, retired Port Arthur Police chief, filed to run for the District 3 council seat on last week. Meanwhile, incumbent District 3 Councilman Morris Albright III, filed to run in At-Large Position 7 against incumbent Charlotte Moses, who also filed last week to run.

Incumbent Kaprina Richardson Frank filed on Monday to run for At-Large Position 8. She will face newcomer Kevin Christopher who also filed.

Filing for a spot in the May 6 city and school board elections ballots starts Jan. 18 and ends Feb. 17.

Early voting is from April 24 to May 2. Runoff Election Day is July 1 if applicable.
