Patsy “Patty” Gail Thompson

Patsy “Patty” Gail Thompson, 54, of Groves, Texas passed away peacefully on Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

She was born on January 14, 1962 to Betty Compton Oliver and Marion Oliver in Big Springs, Texas. She was a former resident of LaBelle and has been living in Grovesfor the last 14 years. Patty worked at a local daycare in Fannett. She also worked as a family service counselor at Live Oak Cemetery and Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Patty enjoyed her trips to the casino, spending time with her family and enjoying her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Jan Faulkner and Peggy Edwards, three of her beloved dogs, Diamond and Keelee and Bear Bear.

Patty is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, Matt Thompson of Groves, her daughter, Stacey  Starkey of Swansboro, North Carolina, her two sons, Lee Wyble of Groves and Dusty Wyble and wife, Britney of China, Texas, her step-daughter, Alanna Thompson of Groves. Those left to cherish her memory are her seven grandchildren, Madison Starkey, Haleigh Starkey, Mason Starkey, Keely Wyble, Remington Wyble, Stetson Wyble and Camden Wyble.

Patty is also survived by her sisters, Susan Vandiver and husband, Red of Fannett, Janice Oliver, Evelyn Oliver, Dian Chesnutt and her brother, George Oliver, numerous nieces and nephews.

Patty also leaves behind her beloved dogs, Buster, Chloe, Tiki, Rocky, Scooby, Baby Girl and J.C.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 4:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Celebration of Patty’s life will be at 11:00 AM Friday, January 13, 2017 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves.
