Marilyn Jones, 93, of Groves passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

Marilyn was born on March 4, 1923 in Ely, Texas to late parents Mattie and Riley Smith. She had lived 50 plus years in the Groves area and was a member of Park Central Church of Christ. Marilyn worked for Kings Pharmacy from 1970-1976 and Cambridge Pharmacy from 1976-1999. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her beloved Yorkie-Poo dog Macy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Grover B. Jones, brothers, Sonny B. Smith, James Smith.Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Carolyn Kay Simmons and husband, Brady Simmons of Port Arthur, Kelly Smith of Groves, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.A Memorial Service to honor Marilyn’s life will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 10 AM at Park Central Church of Christ. In honoring her wishes, arrangements for cremation were entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Directors in Groves.
