Josephine Malveaux Johnson, 81, of Port Arthur, TX died Wednesday, September 28, 2016 in Baytown, TX. A native of Morrow, LA, she was a resident of Port Arthur for 59 years and retired from Mid Jefferson Hospital.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016 at St. James Catholic Church with viewing from 11 a.m. until service time. Father David Edwards will officiate. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Johnson, Sr.; children, Yvonne, Roger, Kenneth, Kevin, Norma, Howland, Enette and Hargust Johnson all of Port Arthur, TX, Roosevelt Johnson of Valencia, CA, Cheryl Gee, Max and Eunice Johnson all of Baytown, TX; sisters and brothers, Vera Malveaux, Lendy Malveaux, Adeline Townsend-Young, Edna Malveaux, Velma Malveaux, Avia “Ann” Holmes, Kerry Wright; 51 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Max Sr. and Avia Pearl Malveaux; sisters, Leana Lee, Virgia Alexander, Alverdia Morgan; brothers, Felix, Max Jr. and Chester Malveaux; daughter
