She was preceded in death by her infant son, Clinton Gaylen Collins, her parents, Don and Jackie Mouirguies and many dear relatives from the Gill, Fuller, and Mouirguies families. Gayla was a member of St. John’s Methodist Church and The Full Gospel Christian Center.

Her passion in life as a young woman was bass fishing, especially in tournaments. Her nickname back then was Bass Gal. She was devoted to her daughter, Devyn and her grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to take them fishing.

Her decision to donate her body to Science Care was motivated by her uncle, Bob Mouirguies who has started the tradition in his family, including Gayla’s two well loved aunts, Carol and Marianne Mouirguies.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Jasper, TX  located at 314 N. Main. The family is requesting donations be made to a fund set up for her daughter and grandchildren in lieu of flowers.
