PN Chamber seeking Christmas parade entries

PORT NECHES — The Port Neches Chamber of Commerce is accepting entries to participate in the annual Christmas parade scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5.

The entry fee, which is due with the application, is a donation of non-perishable food items that will go to a local food pantry or a new two for ages one to 10 years of age that will go to Community Care Prayer Outreach Center.

Applications and donated items can be brought to the Port Neches Chamber of Commerce, 1110 Port Neches Ave. They can be reached by calling 722-9154.

The parade marshal this year is David Mahfouz, pastor of First Baptist Church Port Neches since 1992. Mahfouz has participated in mission trips in Germany, Mexico, Peru and Portugal and helped partnership with the Colegio Alfa and Omega School with Jorge Pastor ministering.

Mahfouz also helped create a mission church in Beaumont in partnership with the Golden Triangle Baptist Association and the Baptist general Convention of Texas. In addition, he does a radio ministry, “A Place For You,” which is a weekly radio broadcast of First Baptist Church Port Neches, according to information from the chamber.

Mahfouz is active in the community and serves as guest speaker and preacher at different events and meetings throughout Texas and Germany.
