Lavonne Donahue Carter was born on May 6, 1952 in Scotlandville, LA to Yvonne Early Donahue and the late Woodrow Donahue.  She departed this life on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at her home in Port Arthur, TX.  Lavonne accepted Christ at an early age. She later moved to Port Arthur, TX and was graduate of the Lincoln High School Class of 1970.  After high school, Lavonne was a nurse for a total of 6 years and later retired from the Port Arthur Independent School District after twelve years of dedicated service.
Lavonne leaves to cherish her memories, a loving mother, Yvonne Early Donahue Armstrong; two children, Raymond Donahue, Sr. and Jessica “Candy” Johnson all of Port Arthur, TX; siblings, Catherine Early Singleton of Sunset, LA, Lisa Donahue Sanders of Baton Rouge, LA, Gwendolyn Donahue of Port Arthur, TX; 7 grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2015 at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel with a viewing from 9 a.m. until service time.  Arrangements under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
