Port Arthur Police responded to the following calls from July 29 through Aug. 4

Wednesday, July 29
• Two men hired to do lawn work reportedly stole a Ryobi backpack blower, valued at $200, from The Shire Apartments, 4020 FM 365.
• An electric weed eater and Craftsman tool set were stolen from a building in the 3200 block of 11th Street.
• Three packs of meat were stolen from Walmart, 8585 Memorial Blvd.
• A Louis Vuitton purse and jewelry were stolen from a home in the 4200 block of Philmont.
• A person was arrested for assault-family violence in the 1900 block of 11th Avenue.
• Attempted burglary of a home was reported in the 4100 block of Ninth Avenue.
• State jail felony assault-family violence was reported at Cedar Ridge apartments, 7631 Ninth Avenue.
• A stainless steel overhead convection microwave was stolen from a home under construction in the 2100 block of Cashere.
• Burglary was reported at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 1749 Herget Avenue.
• Two Galaxy S6 Edge Sapphire brand cell phones, total value $1,740, were stolen from Central Mall T-Mobile, 3100 FM 365.

Thursday, July 30
• Violation of a court order was reported in the 2800 block of Sheridan Lane.
• A Lawnboy lawnmower, Craftsman trimmer, circular saw, hack saw and propane tank were stolen from a building in the 3400 block of 10th Street.
• Three tires and rims and a spare tire were stolen off a vehicle in the 900 block of 13th Street.
• Assault-family violence was reported in the 7100 block of South Gulfway Drive.
• Someone shattered the window of a vehicle and stole a Kenwood Navigation System.
• A cell phone was stolen from a person in the 3500 block of Ninth Avenue.
• A person was arrested for theft at Walmart, 8585 Memorial Blvd.
• Criminal trespass was reported in the 4900 block of Austin Avenue.
• Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported at Rampart Apartments, 1717 Village East Blvd.
• A JVC in-dash stereo system, wallet and cash were stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of Galveston Avenue.
A large plastic dog kennel, two Briggs and Stratton mowers, weed eater, gas can, rake, shovel and Fisher stereo system with large speakers were stolen from a home in the 2400 block of Guzman Drive.
• An assault was reported at Speedy Stop, 600 W. Gulfway Drive.
• Aggravated robbery was reported in the 2200 block of Fourth Street.

Friday, July 31
• A vehicle was damaged and burglarized at Taqueria Con A Sabor A Mexico, 2949 Gulfway Drive.
• Four Craftsman brand saws, two Craftsman wood sanders and one air conditioning unit were stolen from a building in the 3600 block of 10th Street.
• Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported in the 3200 block of 17th Street.
• A 2001 Ford F-150 was stolen from the 900 block of Rio Grande Avenue.
• A person was arrested for assault-family violence-
violence-strangulation at Waterview RV Park, 150 Pleasure Pier Blvd.
• A 2009 Honda Accord was stolen from the 4000 block of 12th Street.
• Burglary of a habitation was reported at Villa Main Apartments, 901 Main Ave.
• Burglary of a habitation was reported in the 4900 block of Austin Avenue.
• A laptop was stolen from an unlocked car at La Cantina Restaurant, 7960 Memorial Blvd.
• An assault was reported at The Shire Apartments, 3960 FM 365.
• Criminal trespass was reported at Cedar Ridge Apartments, 7601 Ninth Ave.
• Criminal mischief was reported in the 2400 block of Norma Street in reference to theft of electricity.
• An iPad mini was stolen from a home in the 2200 block of Fourth Street.
• Assault-family violence was reported in the 2400 block of Thomas Boulevard.
• A person attempted to steal 28 pieces of makeup, valued at $187.13, from Walmart, 8585 Memorial Blvd.

Saturday, Aug. 1
• A safe box containing $980 was stolen from Kia Motors, 7500 Twin City Hwy.
• State jail felony criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported in the 1400 block of Trinity Avenue.
• A FedEx box containing an HP color laser jet printer valued at $307.27, was stolen from the front porch of a home in the 4100 block of Willowbend Lane.
• A person suspected of theft at Walmart, 8585 Memorial Blvd., was found to have city warrants and, after arriving at jail, was found to be in possession of a controlled substance, Ecstasy.
• An assault was reported in the 2300 block of 19th Street.
• Several people entered CVS Pharmacy, 4101 Twin City Hwy., and removed miscellaneous make-up products totaling $726.02.
• Someone broke a window to gain access to Precision Tune, 5011 Twin City Hwy., and stolen approximately $50 in change and several other items.
• A metal cage door was damaged at Parker Lumber, 2948 Gulfway Drive, in an attempt to steal a propane bottle. A suspect was detained.
• Terroristic threat-family violence was reported in the 4700 block of Redbird Street.
• Assault-family violence was reported at Cedar Ridge Apartments, 7621 Ninth Ave.
• A person was arrested for the theft of $74.72 worth of merchandise at Walmart, 4999 Twin City Hwy.
• A person was arrested for possession of a controlled substance — crack cocaine, and $1,044 in cash was seized in the 2800 block of Procter Street.
• Assault-family violence was reported in the 5200 block of Fifth Street after man reportedly assaulted his wife with kitchen tongs.
• A Colt .45 government model gun listed a stolen was recovered in the 4700 block of Lewis Drive following a call of several people making noise and possibly racing. No arrests were made.
• A person was arrested for driving while intoxicated-second offense in the 8500 block of U.S. 69.
• Assault-family violence was reported in the 2100 block of Birch Street.
• Someone used a large piece of concrete to break a glass door at Texas State Optical, 8700 Central Mall Drive, and stolen numerous pairs of eye glasses.
• Assault-family violence was reported in the 3200 block of 39th Street.
• A person was arrested for failure to identify fugitive from justice in the 3600 block of Gulfway Drive.
• Theft was reported at Walmart, 8585 Memorial Blvd..

Sunday, Aug. 2
• A person was grazed by a bullet in the 2800 block of 15th Street.
• Assault-family violence was reported in the 4000 block of Memorial Boulevard.
• Officers responded to a disturbance where one of the parties had possibly taken PCP at Southwood Crossing, 3901 Texas 73. The suspect refused to be detained and became “very aggressive and violent toward officers.” He was later detained and transported to jail for evading-resisting arrest/detention.
• An assault was reported at Willow Lake Apartments, 2555 95th St.
• Assault-family violence was reported in the 2300 block of Thomas Boulevard.
• A man was reportedly attacked by his child’s mother while inside a vehicle using a pair of scissors in the 2300 block of Thomas Boulevard. He did not wish to file charges against her.
• Assault-family violence was reported in the 8500 block of Davis Avenue.
• An XBOX 360 w/two remote controllers, HP laptop, Samsung Chrome Book II, jewelry, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS and empty water bottle continuing $200 in change was stolen from a home in the 3500 block of 26th Street.
• A person was arrested for evading arrest/detention with a vehicle (motorcycle) that resulted in the seizure of the motorcycle in the 4700 block of Lewis Drive.
• A person was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 5900 block of Jade Avenue after driving erratically. The suspect refused to provide a specimen of blood and his driver’s license was confiscated.

Monday, Aug. 3
• A 2003 Toyota Camry was stolen from the 3600 block of Normandy Avenue after the owner left the keys in the car while brining groceries inside her apartment. The theft was discovered the next day.
• Assault-family violence was reported in the 4400 block of Alamosa.
• A person was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, Alprazolam, in the 200 block of DeQueen Boulevard.
• Two Stihl weed eaters, a Stihl leaf blower and an Echo leaf blower were stolen from a building in the 2400 block of 19th Street.
• A person broke a window to a 2014 Dodge Avenger and stole a women’s wallet. The suspect was located and fled from police but was apprehended after a short foot pursuit.
• Assault-family violence was reported in the 3800 block of Fifth Street.
• An assault was reported at Port Arthur Park Apartments, 1348 Jefferson Drive.
• Assault-family violence was reported in the 3000 block of Forest Avenue.
• A man accidentally shot himself with a .45 handgun while in the 900 block of Phyllis. Police also found the man to be have several felony convictions and was in possession of a firearm.
• Assault-family violence/criminal mischief was reported at DeQueen School, 740 DeQueen Blvd.
• A Nintendo Wii and various common household items were stolen from a home in the 1600 block of 19th Street.
• A person was arrested for driving while intoxicated-third or more offense, in the 6000 block of U.S. 69.

Tuesday, Aug. 4
• Two people stole $110 worth of merchandise from Walmart, 4999 Twin City Hwy.
• A man was found deceased under underpass in the 6000 block of Twin City Highway.
• A Galaxy tablet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 1800 block of Houston Avenue.
• A washer and dryer were stolen from a rent house in the 3400 block of Woodrow Drive.
• Police were called to Walmart, 8585 Memorial Blvd. in reference to a person doing illegal drugs in the bathroom. The suspect showed signs of intoxication and fled when the officer attempted to arrest him. He was apprehended and jailed for evading arrest.
• A building at Mid-County Chrysler Dodge Jeep, 8181 Memorial Blvd., was burglarized.
• Assault-family violence was reported in the 2200 block of Fifth Avenue.
• Assault-family violence was reported at Stonegate Manor Apartments, 4145 Turtle Creek Drive.
• A purse containing $980 in cash, driver’s license, Social Security card, reloadable Mastercard and various other papers was stolen from a woman at Minute Mart, 3453 25th St. The suspect told police she was playing video games when a person asked to borrow money and she refused. A short time later the person returned, grabbed the purse and fled.
