Mrs. Emma Mae Walters

   Mrs. Emma Lee  Walters, a native of Port Arthur died on Wednesday, January 8th at Christus St. Mary Hospital.

   She was a 1966 graduate of Lincoln High School. She was a Faithful Charter member of the Gods First Missionary Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Women’s Ministry, Sick and Shut In Ministry, Women’s Choir, Sheppard’s Ministry, Praise Team Choir and Pastor Appreciation Ministry.  Emma was dedicated, devoted, and determined. She loved her church family and especially her Pastor. She never allowed her illness to take away from serving in her church. She was a 1966 graduate of Lincoln High School.

   She was preceded in death by her father, Perry Coleman; mother, Mary Ellen Reynolds and nephew, Barry Lee Simpson.

   She was survived by her sisters, Patsy Simpson of Port Arthur, TX and Beverly Coleman of Atlanta, GA; nephews, Roderick Simpson, Sr. of Columbus, OH, Joey (Carla) Simpson, Sr. of Fort Wayne, IN and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

   Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2014 at Eastern Star Baptist Church with viewing from 9 a.m. until service time. Rev. Donald Toussaint will officiate. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
