Rev. Msgr. Charles C. Domec, 82, of The Woodlands, Texas passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2013, in Houston.  Born in Port Arthur to Paul and Jeanne Domec, Msgr. Domec  was one of six siblings.  He attended St. James Elementary School and graduated from Bishop Byrne High School.  His seminary studies were taken at St. Mary’s Seminary in Galveston.  

   On May 26, 1956, he was ordained at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Galveston and celebrated his first Mass in St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur, TX.  In 1995 he was elevated Monsignor by Bishop Joseph A. Fiorenza.  

   His parish assignments in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston have included All Saints-Houston, Sacred Heart-Conroe, Queen of Peace-Houston, Sacred Heart-Brookshire, St. Bartholomew-Katy.  In 1979 he was appointed Pastor of Sts. Simon and Jude in The Woodlands, where he served until his retirement in 2012.

   Services for Msgr. Domec will take place in The Woodlands and are under the direction of Forest Park Funeral Home.  Visitation for family and friends will be held at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church’s Domec Hall Thursday, August 22, from 1 to 8 pm.  A Rosary will be recited every hour on the hour led by Parish organizations.  A vigil service will begin at 7 pm.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Bishop Joseph Fiorenza, Bishop Vincent Rizotto, Rev. Msgr. Eugene Francis and Rev. Vincent Nguyen Friday, August 23, at 11:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with burial to follow at Forest Park Cemetery.

   Msgr. Domec was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jack Domec and his sister, Jessie La Bouve.  Survivors include one brother, Earl Domec and his wife Mary of Glen Rose, Texas, two sisters, Mary and her husband Kenneth Craig of Bridge City and Hazel Blake of Denver, Pennsylvania, also nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends.

  The family wishes to thank the physicians and staff of Hermann Memorial Hospital-The Woodlands, Memorial Hermann Hospital-Houston and Cullen Pavillion-Houston for the professional, loving and compassionate care Msgr. Domec received during his long hospitalization.  In lieu of flowers, Msgr. requested donations be sent St. Vincent DePaul Society at Sts. Simon and Jude.
