A five-week-old infant that was severely injured is now listed in stable condition a week after entering the pediatric intensive care unit at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.

Shari Pulliam, spokesperson with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, said she will have additional information on the child’s condition later in the week.

The infant’s father, Jason Jeraud LeBlanc, 27, of Port Arthur was arrested  several days later on a charge of injury to a child with serious bodily injury. Justice of the Peace Marc DeRouen issued the warrant and set the bond at $150,000.

CPS was granted temporary managing conservatorship of the 4-week-old infant and a 13-month-old child that lived in the home. The older child showed no signs of abuse nor neglect, Pulliam said.

The infant suffers from multiple skull fractures, bran bleed, fractured rib and fractured femur, broken tibia and broken jaw.

Injury to a child is a first-degree felony.
