Beginning Monday through July 7, Walmart and Sam’s Club is hosting “Spark Good. Change Kids’ Health” fundraising benefiting CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Health System through Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Believing that every child deserves a healthy and happy life, Walmart and Sam’s Club annually partner with CMN Hospitals across the country to raise necessary funds for the little ones in their communities. Their support makes a world of difference for local children’s hospitals, making a positive impact on kids’ health.

During the campaign, as customers and members shop at Walmart or Sam’s Club, you can “Spark Good” for children in your community by donating at the register, online at helpkidslivebetter.org or through the Walmart app by rounding up and selecting your local CMN Hospitals partner.

Brett Baxter was a 13-year-old athlete when he fell through a window, causing a severe injury to his arm. Once he arrived at the CHRISTUS Southeast Texas – St. Elizabeth emergency room, the hospital trauma team attended to Brett quickly.

He required extensive therapy to regain function in his hand, which was accomplished through determination and the help of outstanding medical professionals.

Brett was named the 2023 CMN Hospitals champion for CHRISTUS Southeast Texas. With the combination of caregivers and his positive outlook, Brett can once again enjoy his favorite activities. His experience reminds us of the impact of resources CMN Hospitals provides our community.

Walmart and Sam’s Club associates are at the heart of the campaign, as so many have strong relationships with their local children’s hospitals. Donations made through the campaign directly benefit our local patients and families.

Donations support essential medical equipment, life-saving research and family-centered care programs that are all at the core of children’s health.

But they can’t do it alone. Each dollar raised locally at Walmart and Sam’s Club helps CHRISTUS Southeast Texas provide treatments and support patients desperately need today, so that they can fulfill their potential for tomorrow.

“At CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Health System, our dedicated staff plays a vital role delivering comprehensive care for children and families. We go beyond treatment, offering preventive care, and providing health education and support services to build stronger communities,” said Caralee Thompson, CMN Hospitals program manager at CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Foundation.

“We are incredibly grateful to Walmart and Sam’s Club associates and customers. Their generous support allows us to deliver this essential care to our communities, ultimately investing in the health of future generations.”

The 2024 goal is to raise more than $80,000 for CHRISTUS Southeast Texas.
