The Sea Rim Sandies had a classic day when they went to #birdportarthur at Sea Rim State Park. Extreme weather challenged them May 2, but they were pretty exited at their spotting, which included Indigo Bunting in addition to a variety of shore birds.

Sherrie Roden, Christine Sliva and Jana Whittle performed as Sea Rim Sandies. Port Arthur Convention & Visitors Bureau sponsored the team in the Great Texas Birding Classic, which offers many division during spring migration.

Port Arthur is set in both the Central and Mississippi flyways which draws migrating birds to our shores, including Sabine Woods. The city of Port Arthur has read a resolution to join in observing May 11 as World Migratory Bird Day.
