Thelma Ann Williams Thibodeaux, affectionately known as Ann, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the age of 90. She was born on January 12, 1934, in Mobile County, Alabama. Ann was raised in Groves, TX, and eventually settled in New Iberia, LA, in 1969.

Ann was a devoted housewife and co-owner of J.P. Thibodeaux. She was a pillar of her community, known for her warmth, generosity, and tireless dedication to various organizations. Ann was an active member of First United Methodist Church, where she found fellowship and purpose. She was also deeply involved with the United Methodist Women and Helping Hands, where she offered support and comfort to those in need.

In her leisure time, Ann loved playing cards, enjoying a round of golf, and soaking up the sun at the beach with her cherished friends of WOW. Together with her beloved husband, J.P. Thibodeaux, Ann embarked on countless adventures, traveling the country in their motorhome and creating cherished memories along the way.

Ann’s commitment to service extended beyond her immediate circles. She was a past member of the Altrusian Club and a lifetime member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Iberia General Hospital and Dauterive Hospital. Her involvement with organizations like the Red Cross and cancer associations demonstrated her unwavering compassion for others. Ann volunteered her time and talents at numerous events and activities, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her loving son, Joe Bob Thibodeaux, and wife Carmen, one sister, Jane Eastburn; one brother John H. Burton, Jr. and wife Sherri; nieces, Colleen Hutchins and husband Bob, Maxine Gibson and her late husband Bryan Gibson, Shana Burton and husband Dylan, and Kristie Burton; nephew, John Burton, III and wife Crystal; special cousins, Debbie and Donnie Cochran and numerous great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, J.P. Thibodeaux; her father, Leo Barman Williams and her mother, Thelma Stewart Grimmet and her brother-in-law, Richard Eastburn.

Private Graveside services will be held at Holy Family Mausoleum.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to our mother’s caregivers, Torrie Olivier, Lisa Miles, Myra Broussard, and Bonnie Gibson, along with the staff of Hospice of Acadiana and the staff Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
