Port Arthur ISD school board and Jefferson County Appraisal District elections decided

Jefferson County voters weighed in Saturday for the uniform election to elect school board trustees and appraisal district directors.
In Port Arthur, there were 2,400 votes case for three open seats on the Port Arthur Independent School District Board of Trustees.
Voters could vote for none, one, two or three candidates.
The three top voter getters are selected for the open seats.
Dianne Brown secured the most votes with 527, followed by Taylor Getwood (524 votes) and Brandon Bartie (456 votes).
Other receiving votes were Julio Delgado (180 votes), Nina Stella (286 votes) and Debra Ambroise (427 votes).
There were also two contest election on the Jefferson County Appraisal District Board of Directors.
For Place 1, Vernon G. Durden (1,801 votes) defeated Terry Metreyeon (1,654 votes).
For Place 3, Larry Weston won over Steve Megas with a vote total of 1,611 to 1,520.
