NEDERLAND — Extensive storms impacted Nederland on Thursday, with damage to trees.

Starting on Monday, solid waste crews will be working overtime to haul off green waste resulting from the storms.

The greatest storm damage was documented south of Nederland Avenue; thus, the solid waste crews will focus on this area.

Customers who are north of Nederland Avenue and have additional green waste resulting from the storm will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.

It is necessary for homeowners to place their debris in separate piles as follows:

  • UNBAGGED GREEN WASTE (limbs, tree branches, logs, leaves, and vegetation)
  • DEBRIS (fence material, siding, shingles)

The City recognizes the inconvenience and additional work this separation of debris

requires, but the piles have separate end locations. Do not place the debris in ditches

or over water meters and fire hydrants.

If you hire a contractor to address a tree on your property, the contractor is responsible for hauling off the green waste.

We ask for your cooperation and patience through this process. If you have any

questions about debris separation or placement, please call the City Manager’s Office at (409) 723-1503.
