Groves Police Department officers made the following arrests and responded to the following calls from April 17 to April 23:

April 17

  • Eric Jones, 40, was arrested for theft in the 6000 block of 39th Street.
  • A theft was reported in the 4100 block of Main.
  • An assault was reported in the 2400 block of Crescent Drive.

April 18

  • Possession of a controlled substance report was filed at the 4400 block of Pure Atlantic.

April 19

  • Eugene McCartey, 40, was arrested for failed to identify fugitive – intent to give false information, unlawfully carrying a weapon and warrants in the 5200 block of Twin City Highway.
  • Forgery financial instrument was reported in the 5200 block of East Parkway.
  • A dog bite was reported in the 3100 block of South Drive.
  • An assault was reported in the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive.

April 20

  • Franklin Orellana-Maya, 26, was arrested for warrants in the 6400 block of Washington.
  • Steven Salgado, 47, was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 6000 block of Gulfway Drive.
  • An information report was filed at the 6000 block of Van Buren.

April 21

  • Brandon Coleman, 43, was arrested for warrants in the 3000 block of Bernhardt.

April 22

  • Donald Orchid, 23, was arrested for public intoxication and warrants in the 4500 block of Twin City Highway.
  • Sophia Evans, 25, was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 3700 block of Taft.
  • Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle was reported in the 6300 block of Gulfway Drive.
  • An information report was filed at the 2800 block of Pearl.
  • An assault was reported in the 4700 block of Martha.

April 23

  • A theft was reported in the 6100 block of Gulfway Drive.
