PORT NECHES — The mission of Faith & Family Night during Port Neches RiverFest is to bring the body of Christ together and develop interdenominational camaraderie.

That is going to be evident when more than 25 local churches come together May 1 during the first day of the annual event at Port Neches Riverfront Park.

Shana Burt, Faith & Family Night chairwoman and member of the RiverFest Committee, said most of the churches taking part in the event are going to have booths selling food and drink in order to raise money for their programs.

“We offer them the ability to come out and raise money for their organizations,” Burt said.

Regular food booths that aren’t associated with Faith & Family Night will be closed that night.

“We want everyone to come out, come hungry and support the local churches,” Burt said.

In addition to the churches, there will also be a prayer tent on the site and LifeShare Blood Center will be present for blood donations.

The opening ceremony will be at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, and Encounter Church team will take the stage at 6 p.m.

Faith & Family Night headliner Tauren Wells will then take the stage at 7:30 p.m.

Wells is a platinum-selling recording artist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter with 10 Grammy award nominations, six No. 1 hits, with GMA Dove Awards and more, according to his bio information.

Burt said the RiverFest Committee always gets great feedback from the community regarding Faith & Family Night, saying it is a great evening of fellowship with fellow believers in the community.

Tickets for Faith & Family Night are $10 each, and those age 12 and under get in free. Children with Riverpasses also get in free.
