GROVES — Veteran owned and operated Troop Industrial has supplied the growing needs of industry with American-made bolts and other products for years, having achieved many distinctions along the way.
The newest is the Small Business Administration’s Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Certification.
Owner Brian Swindell said in a news release the new certification opens doors to vast opportunities and advantages for businesses led by service-disabled veterans across various sectors, including technology, oil and gas, engineering, procurement, construction, liquefied natural gas, green energy and more.
These businesses serve critical markets, including the Department of Defense and other state and federal entities.
“This certification is a win for our clients and a win for Troop Industrial,” he said in the announcement.
“The box we check is one that was earned through sacrifices made for this country of ours. When you check that SDVOSB box, you turn the spotlight on the American Flag and those that were willing to give it all.”
For customers, the new certification shows Troop’s dedication to excellence, integrity and service, he said.
“It demonstrates to your client base that you support your Veteran community and align with a company that has values that go beyond just profitability and the next sale,” he said.
Previously, Troop Industrial obtained certification through a private entity, then found out the SBA is the sole recognized authority for SDVOSB.
“For Veteran business owners embarking on this journey, be prepared for a process that could span several months to a year,” Swindell said.
A U.S. Marine combat veteran, Swindell has a team of members, most of which are military Veterans dedicated to delivering a positive experience with clients, he said in the news release.
Swindell’s military training and discipline likely had a hand in keeping him on task as he created his growing business from the ground up.
What started out as a part-time venture in 1999 went full time in July 2005 with a 14-by-20 portable building at the back of a driveway.
That has changed exponentially with his current digs in Groves at 4330 N. Link St., Suite A.
It is now exponentially larger with offices in Groves, Pasadena and Sulphur.
Troop Industrial was named Veteran Owned Small Business Champion 2015. Swindell was also awarded was awarded the 2019 Industry of the Year for his Pasadena team by the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce.
