2 Port Arthur men arrested Sunday on Nederland burglary charges

NEDERLAND — A person who noted suspicious activity in a Nederland neighborhood Sunday led to the arrest of two Port Arthur men on burglary charges.

Nederland Police Chief Gary Porter said a call came in at approximately 5:18 p.m. about a suspicious vehicle in the 1200 block of North 18th Street.

A man was located in a 2019 grey Chevrolet Equinox. Police also found a broken window on a garage, and a second suspect fled on foot who was caught in the 1300 block of North 18th Street trying to jump a fence. The man was allegedly found with items from the property, Porter said.

The case remains under investigation as police look to see if the two men are involved in other residential burglaries in the area.

Those arrested include Dajuan McMillan, 22, who was charged with burglary of a habitation, evading arrest detention and drug possession with bonds totaling $17,500, and Darwin McMillan, 26, charged with burglary of a habitation with bonds at $8,500 in addition to warrants on unrelated charges.
